Solution to Economic Melt Down: A Nuclear Holocaust

Had Gautam Buddha been alive bodily in modern day world he would have been tremendously successful in propagating his ideas. The plummeting indices have left many bankrupt and the air of despair which has started to prevail is all due to the very "desire" of we humans. The human "desire" according to Buddha is the root cause of all of their sufferings. And what is this desire for? Money... Popularity... Success...Pleasure. Well, it may vary across the spectrum of human personalities but statisticians would definitely agree with me that among all the drivers of this human "desire" , the desire for money or wealth has the highest mode. I know I am not an Economics veteran but my basic knowledge about the subject permits me to write that the money which we see today is nothing but a manifestation of gold which was the medium of trade of yesteryears. The question now arises why did our forefathers choose GOLD as a medium of trade then. Was it because it was lustrous and hence attractive for people to readily exchange their goods and services for. Or is it because it was scantily available? Or because of both? If I go by my instinct and assume the same for my fellow humans then possibly yes, the first logic would be the reason because there are a million other things which are also rarely available. Now, the question boils down to "Why do we have such an instinct then?" As far as my knowledge goes human instincts are a function of their genetic structure. The character of humans are thus defined by the types of genes present in their chromosomes.
Now, lets take a hypothetical case. I know I would be killed for even letting this thought come to my mind but I cant find any other choice. Let us suppose that there is a nuclear holocaust on the earth and unlike the one which happened in Japan, it affects each and every organism on the planet. I can now very well imagine the filth emanating from the reader's heart! My sincere apologies but I am not such a misanthropist as you are thinking. This time no one gets killed, the only effect it leaves is that it mutates those genes of the human chromosomes which are responsible for humans' lust for material like gold. Happy now! But wait ! It has laid one more effect and that is now the man has developed a desire for earth or sand whatever you call it (please don't get confused with land). Now, humans want to possess more and more of earth/sand and this has become the medium of trade. As there is tonnes of earth for humans to possess so the chances of development of competition among them for acquiring the same would be lower. Subsequently, the valuation of earth wont really change over centuries together and hence there would be no Economic melt down in future.

MTV Roadies

I was strolling in my wing (the corridor in front of my room) when I stopped by one of my wing-mate's room. I found him and some other friends of mine watching a TV show on his laptop. Do not get surprised by the concept of watching TV shows on a computer. Thanks to the IIT which has provided internet connections with ultra-high speed, IITians are now famous for downloading shared materials (including TV shows like Boston Legal, Prison Break on one hand and Chandrakanta, Shaktimaan, Tehkikaat on the other, I am not at all attempting to say that they download sleazy material as well [:P]). On being inquired by me about the same they said they were watching MTV Roadies. Amazed by the peculiarity of the name I wanted to know more about it and since my friends were in no mood to brief me about it I had no other option but to sit down and watch the show and know myself what it was all about.

I found a bald person (later I came to know that his name was Raghu) and a common face on MTV, Nikhil Chinappa grilling a guy. I found them tormenting the poor chap with slang, filthy and abusive language. I was shocked to know that this program was being aired on such a famous channel. Later when I came to know about the purpose of this hour long so called "auditions" I was very disappointed. Those who are going to be selected will have to do some "tough tasks" like trekking, bike-riding, rope climbing, playing tennis etc. And while doing these all, they have to conspire against each other and try to vote-out others in order to survive as a winner. I was amazed even more when I saw corporates pouring lacs of Rupees as sponsors.

What is the aim of these kind of shows:

a) To really find out people who have got guts and courage.
b)Make people famous.
c)To portray the mindset of present day youth. (Sex, abusive language, hatred for parents, shortcuts to success....IDENTITY CRISIS).
d)To earn money... thats it.

I am no one to criticise the intellect of the people who have generated (/copied) this concept but I have only one thing to say and that is by promoting these kind of shows are we not, in a way, adding fuel to the fire. The youth, who should have channelised their efforts in doing something constructive and fruitful, is getting deviated or rather made to deviate from their paths.

It was this idea which came to my mind after watching the show. Wouldn't it have been better if we gave each one of them a village and asked them to generate employment for its people in say a month's time. The corporates would have provided them with the seed money to go about the project chosen by themselves and the person who would have generated maximum employment (in terms per capita increase in income) would have been declared as winner. I can say from my prior experience it is way tougher and challenging than earning "immunity" in the Roadies show. This would have been a win-win situation for all the parties involved. Corporates could count this as their contribution towards CSR. Both the channel and the participants could win laurels for having done something substantial by changing someone's life. This would further improve the spirit of teamwork, brotherhood and cohesion between youth rather than giving them enough chances to learn how to play the game of politics and earn hatred of the companions. Doesn't our society have enough reasons to get disintegrated within no time? Then why are we adding some more to them?

Kaam ki jwala sashakt hui hai,

Danav ban gaya insaan!
Jis ki pooja kiya karte the,
Us naari ka chheena maan!
Kahe ko srishti rach daali,
Kya soojhi tujhko mere bhagwan!!!

Krodhaanal mein lipti vasundhara,
Naate nahi, pyaari hai aan!
Treta mein aaye Bharat-Ramchandra,
Kalyug mein leta bhai bhai ki jaan!
Kahe ko srishti rach daali,
Kya soojhi tujhko mere bhagwan!!!

Mad ne manushya ko daas banaya,
Madiralaya ban gaya jahan!
Bhrashta ho rahi mati maanav ki,
Ho raha patan ka aahwaan!
Kahe ko srishti rach daali,
Kya soojhi tujhko mere bhagwan!!!

Lobh samaya har vyakti mein,
Dhan hi mano hai abb pran!
Dharti dhundhe fir KARNA ko,
Lupta ho gaya hai BALIdaan!
Kahe ko srishti rach daali,
Kya soojhi tujhko mere bhagwan!!!

Ahankaar ban gaya hai swami,
Panap raha hai bas abhimaan!
Paropkaar ka mulya hai khoya,
Swartha ban gaya hai balwan!
Kahe ko srishti rach daali,
Kya soojhi tujhko mere bhagwan!!!

Kaam, krodha, mad, lobh, moh ne,
Kiya hai tujhko bhi hairaan!
Fir ban aao tum RAM, KRISHNA,
Dilao dhara ko ab paritraan!
Kahe ko srishti rach daali,
Kya soojhi tujhko mere bhagwan!!!

(in roman script)

HAUSLA

Aaj mann mein ummeedon ki laher hai,
Sugam lag rahi apni yeh dagar hai.

Jab chala tha tab raat thi,
Aaj ek madhur savera hai.
Thakna nahi hai bas chalna hai,
Aanewala kal bhi mera hai...

Apne hausle ki garmi se,
Ab patthar pighlaana hai.
Toofanon ka hriday cheerkar,
Aage badhte jana hai...

Darr ko, ghabrahat ko humne,
Apna daas banaya hai.
Kamzoriyon se bhare charitra ko,
Yamlok ka dwar dikhaya hai...

Baadha ki baadha banne ka,
Ab hum bhi takat rakhte hain.
Bhay humse bhi tharthar kaanpe,
Aisi himmat rakhte hain...

Wighnon ka aalingan karne ki shakti ka,
Humein to arjan karna hai.
Akanksha humari bas, ab lakshya ko paakar,
Ishwar ko arpan karna hai...

RIKT STHAN KI POORTI KAREIN

Nirmalta ka tum pratyaksha udaharan,
Sundarta hoti tumse paribhashit!
Dekhkar apni is anokhi kriti ko,
Khud Bramha bhi ho raha chakit!!!

Osh ki boond se paawan ho tum,
Masoom si tumhari har muskaan hai!
Adbhut, adwitiya tumhara charitra,
Soch tumhari mahan hai!!!

Dekhkar ashrupurit nayan tumhare,
Hridaya karta chitkaar hai!
Jo na rok paaoon wo ashrudhara,
to swayam pe dhikkar hai!!!

Thak jao agar jeevan mein,
Adhoore reh jaayein agar sapney!
Us waqt bhi jo naam loge hamara,
Paoge sang humein apne!!!

Na rona kabhi tum, sada hanste rehna,
Tum ho to humara viswas hai!
Gaurvanvit hokar kehta hoon,
________ humare paas hai!!!

The search is on!!!

I don't really know what made me compose the following poem ("FIR BHI MERA DUKH SABSE BADA HAI", the post just below this one) but I am very sure of one thing and that is the very poem has given me a new direction in life. It was a usual train journey which I used to hate the most but from now on I am going to welcome these journeys as it was this train journey from Bangalore to Kharagpur which inspired me to see life from a different perspective.
It would be somewhere around Vishakhapattanam, where I saw this boy. He would have been some eleven years of age. The very attire he was clad with was reflecting his status of abject poverty. I was noticing the movements of the kid. He was carrying a kettle in his right hand and some plastic cups in his left one. Bare-footed he, was running across each window of the compartment to maximize his sales before he could hear the whistle of the engine. His very eagerness to find customers for his tea is worth mentioning. Seeing the magnitude of effort put in by an eleven year old to earn his livelihood I was encouraged from my inner self to buy a cup of tea from that kid. I was about to call him when I heard the train whistling and the very next moment I could see the compartment leaving the platform. I was cursing myself for not calling him before. As the train gained pace I could see the face of the kid fading away but it was only later when I realized that I won't be able to wipe out that face from my memories ever. After that I turned my face to pay attention to the activities going inside the compartment. The very click which made me take out my travel diary(I always keep a note pad while traveling to capture these kinda events then and there) and start writing was the flashing of these two lines "dekhta hoon us nanhe baalak ko, haathon mein pustak ki jageh chaaye ki ketli". Somebody may ask why "pustak" (book) and nothing else like "khilauna" (a toy). But I have got a reason for this as well. When I turned my face to look inside the compartment I found another kid but this time the scene was altogether different. I saw a thirteen year old kid holding a book of SUDOKU puzzles. The continuous pampering of the child by his mother was making me perplexed. I was finding it very difficult to understand the contrast existing in life. On one hand I was seeing a deprived child on the other a child privileged with extra affection of his parents. I was wondering ,why this disparity when everybody is HIS child? Why this imbalance? Is this some kind of a game played by HIM? Why is this going on? Is there any end to all this drama? I know I cant leave my family and society in search of answers to this queries as Buddha did but ofcourse I need the answers to these queries. Is it very difficult or rather impossible to get the answers to these queries while being a very much part of this world???
I searched a lot and am still searching to get those queries answered but I know I am not that fortunate to get relieved so easily. So, to satisfy my emotions
(or in a way to deceive them) I decided to complete the poem .

My gratitude to CRTI

CRTI or Cummins Research and Technology India, Pune is the company where I did my 2 months cumpulsory summer internship. The 2 months I spent at CRTI would definitely be the most memorable period of my life. I learnt so many things there about whose magnitude I am not sure of myself. To express my gratitude for the people there at CRTI, CFD division in particular, I composed and recited following poem in one of the several get-together parties they organise.

"CUMMINS is a good company",
I had always heard people saying.
To get a chance of internship there,
Since long I was praying.

A commendable project at CUMMINS,
Would take me to League Ivy.
Having this thought in mind,
I posted my CV.

Can't forget the day,
When I received the acceptance mail.
The river of joy came calling,
And my heart desired to sail.

Having all these aspirations
I joined CRTI.
To learn to the maximum,
Thought I would try.

ProE here, GAMBIT there,
I saw FLUENT everywhere.
Found marvelous hospitality,
Which, I must say, is really rare.

Learnt consistency, learnt perseverance,
Learnt tackling situations so strainuous.
Knowledgeable you, co-operative you.
You all are uniquely fabulous.

Thank you one, thank you all,
How grateful am I, I am unable to narrate.
You rock CRTI CFD,
You are simply great.

Is waqt mein hum tumhare saath hain!!!

Hanseen mausam mein jis tarah, khamoshi nahi,
muskurahat achchi lagti hai !!!

Na ho koi insaan agar aashiyanein mein
To aashiyana veeran ho jata hai,
Na ho muskaan tere chehre pe
To yeh dil pareshaan ho jata hai !!!

Suna hai Dard-e-dil baantne se kam hota hai
Na baanta gaya agar to fir yeh sitam hota hai,
Aise ghamgeen palon mein hi to doston ko yaad kiya jata hai,
Mile har kisi ko ek dost yeh fariyaad kiya jaata hai !!!

Laanat hai us dosti pe
jozaroorat mein dost ke kaam na aa saki,
Moosibat mein pade dost ke dil mein
Aaraam na la saki !!!

Keh daalo aei dost
Dil mein tumhare jo baat hai,
Mauka ek humein bhi do yeh jatane ka,
Is waqt mein hum tumhare saath hain !!!

A Real Lesson

Exams were over. An ordeal came to an end. It was time to relax and chill. The very thought of going home was filling the heart with loads of excitement. Thrilled by this very feeling I went to the reservation counter in the institute only to see a 200 yard (apologies for exaggerating a bit) long queue of hopeful travelers. "Should I go for it?" the very question was knocking the doors of my brain but the scorching sun overhead had something else to tell. As always I was again not in a mood to drain out water from my body and so I decided to leave the anxious people in the queue behind me happier. I dint have the idea that a little (now I know it was not at all "little") bit of complacency on my part would lead to a hell lot of trouble later on. So what now?? Suddenly my intelligent brain showed me an alternative. The plan was to borrow the scooter of one of my friends in the evening and get the ticket booked at the station itself. The plan was not bad at all if it would have been implemented accordingly. But as usual the plan had to fail without coming out of my neural networks.
Thanks to the first years that came to our hall in the evening to deposit their belongings before going for the vacation. The faccha whom I gave the money to book the ticket for me, must have cursed me for harassing him after a frustrating stretch of exams.Anyways, I got my ticket and again as always the ticket was wait-listed. I was not at all worried at that time because every time I had traveled by this train I had managed to land in the wait list only. But never ever I had faced such a situation which I am going to describe in following paragraphs.
My train was scheduled at 11.45 in the night. So I had enough time to spend on other activities. Thanks to my project partners, I had to finalize the project all alone. So I had planned to finish the work before 5 pm and then pack my bags. Everything went fine except that the deadline of 5 pm couldn’t be met and I was able to sum up only by 8 30 pm. Somehow I managed to pack my bags within such a short span. As I was to go to Pune for my internship so a lot of preparation was needed. I had planned to gather a few books from my college mates, download some software, collect some e-books but none of them could be accomplished. Despite all these I was satisfied as I was going home and this very thought was overshadowing everything else.I finished all the preparations before 10 pm and since an hour was left before I was to leave for the station I thought that I should check my reservation status. This time also I was not much tensed upon knowing that the chart had been prepared and I was W/L 17. I was having an idea that as always this time also I would be able to manage a berth by offering a few bucks to the TTE. But hell, I was all wrong this time.
Train arrived and I rushed to the black coat the moment I found it in the crowded platform. Before I could utter a word another person started talking to the TTE with same intentions and the way TTE scolded that fellow I lost the interest of taking any chance there .So I started looking for a softer target. Thanks to my body language reading skills, I was able to find one fellow who was at least ready to listen to the passengers. In the beginning he also turned down my request and showed me the general compartment. Cursing myself for this situation I strode towards the general compartment. What I saw in those compartments deserve another post. I had 3 bags with me including the laptop and there was no space event at the gates. For a moment I thought I should cancel the journey but the "Never Say Die" attitude dint let me give up and I rushed to the same fellow again. This time the person was a bit softer and the moment I said I was carrying a W/L 17 ticket and I was an IITian, he permitted me in. This was not all, each and every seat was occupied inside the compartment. I don’t know why during these kind of journeys the people who manage to get a seat reserved generally have a very suspicious attitude towards other fellow passengers who couldn’t get one. I have noticed this attitude quite often and to be very frank I belong to the same brigade as well. The very empathy proved to be a source of a great experience. At 11.45 pm train left the station and I took a deep breath and thanked god as it was very necessary for me to reach my home the very next morning. As the train gathered momentum I was loosing my patience and was dying to sit somewhere. So I took out the news paper sheet which I had kept in my bag anticipating this situation, spread that on the floor, sat down and started reading "FIRST THINGS FIRST" by Stephen Covey. Reading a book in those conditions was really a different experience. A few minutes later the whole battalion of the railway police appeared before me and started interrogating about me but fortunately the TTE who allowed me to enter the compartment had already told them about me. I carried on with reading and had gone through three chapters when slumber came calling. Initially I was reluctant to do that but later on I surrendered. I spreaded the newspaper between the berths as a bed sheet, put my bag on one side, kept the laptop under a berth safely and then lied down. My dignity was not at all allowing me to sleep in such a condition but after burning all my joules since morning on the project I was not giving a damn to it. Though I reached home after facing all this, the trip made me learn several things viz. don’t hesitate from sweating in the sun for some genuine reason- had I stayed there in the queue for some more time I could have got the ticket, don’t be complacent- had I taken the scooter from my friend and gone to the station that very evening I would not have seen that situation in the train.

MERA BHARAT MAHAN

"MERA BHARAT MAHAN"... These were the first words which gushed out of my mouth when I saw yesterday's headlines. The story was about Jessica Lal who was shot dead in a bar on refusing a drink to a mindless creature. The verdict of the Court is out and all those who were accused are now free. Free to commit yet another crime coz they know they are in India where you have the license to commit crimes if you are wealthy or have some "contacts".
The logic behind the acquittal: the revolver which was supposedly used by the criminals was missing. What the hell!
What happens next? If the revolver is not recovered then the court's verdict would be "JESSICA WAS NOT MURDERED IN THE BAR “or rather "SHE WAS NOT PRESENT IN THE BAR THAT NIGHT ". The news will be in the media for a few days and then Jessica Lal will be lost in some files, only to be remembered as a murder case.
Every body in the party that night knows whose the killer but nobody has the guts to come forward and identify that bastard. Two of them had tried to show courage but again some kind of pressurizing turned them hostile. this is India where a witness can change his statement whenever he feels like no matter what may be the consequences. Our legal system is such a handicap that no action can be taken against a witness who turns hostile. In my opinion if this kind of situation arises where a case takes a different course due to the hostility of the witnesses and the accused are acquitted due to lack of evidences then first of all these witnesses should be booked for the crime and should be punished accordingly. You name and I shall show you that each and every case in India meets a dead-end mainly due to the hostility of the witnesses. The Best bakery case is another very good example.
Secondly, why can’t we have some more efficient organizations like CBI? I know that all such cases can’t be handled by CBI but I am sure that had the case gone in the clutches of CBI it would have successfully thrown the culprits behind the bars. This is where your "contacts" come into picture. If you have committed a crime and you are a relative of a minister or a beaurocrat you need not worry. I think this is the message the Indian Judiciary has sent by acquitting all the accused.

The case was registerd in 1999 and the verdict comes out in 2006. 7 years for one case...really amazing.

What does Jessicas's family get?: disappointments and frustrations.

What do culprits get? : another chance to murder an innocent and slap on the face of law.

Now I understand the significance of the black piece of cloth on the eyes of the statue symbolising Indian judiaciary system.

Thanks BLOGGER

I didn't have the idea that writing can make me so load-free. Frankly speaking it has now become the best way to relieve myself from all the burdens and tensions that I gather from infinite sources around me.Thanks to this very concept of blogging.
Just now I was going through some blogs of my college-mates .Came across the posts of one of my friends. The post was quite appreciating and was potraying an altogether different picture of the author.I was amazed to learn that this fellow of mine , about whom I had a very different impression(more towards bad) , has compelled me to give a second thought to the way I perceive people. Thanks to blogging again.
No wonder why I was feeling frustrated.I am going through this phase since a year now.I was searching for someone with whom I could share my so called "grief's".Looked all around but could not find anyone worth. Thanks to this scarcity of humans which made me to strike the keyboard.
(***was able to pen down a couple of poems only due to this marvellous platform.)
These days I am feeling that blogging has become more like an addiction than a habit

A message from Nature!!!

Looking out of the window,
When I see the rain.
I forget all sorrow
I forget all pain.

Each drop that falls,
has something to convey.
Have always been eager,
To know what they say.

Wont lose the chance,
Wont let a message unheard.
Engrossed in the thoughts,
I see this bird.

I see a cuckoo,
Protecting her nest.
A battle against nature,
Fought at its best.

Clouds roar
Chicks are crying.
They aren't hurt,
The mother is trying.

Nature surrenders,
The bird is victorious.
Never have I seen,
A war so glorious.

Exhausted body, shattered nest,
A glimpse of those tired eyes.
Are they trying to say to me,

"Come on!!! you,
NEVER SAY DIE".

VIPs for a day

A LANCER coming to receive you at the station, you are put up in a first class guest house with a top quality lunch served to you, official meetings with the topmost authorities of the institution, asking you to light the ceremonial lamp to start the event and getting a decent memento to end the show. What else do you require to be treated as VIPs. Yes this was the treatment our ROBOTIX team received when we landed in Bhubaneshwar for conducting a workshop(w/s) on Robotics in KIIT. To tell you frankly, I was anticipating this kinda hospitality when one of my fellow heads Sabya told me about the nature of conversation he was having with one of the organizing team members there at KIIT.
The day was really great for us specially when our dear "GOLU" agreed to accompany us for the w/s. Sumandeep Banerjee aka Golu is literally STUD(in our lingo) in the field of mobile robotics.
He has enormous funda in this field and when he was there with us we knew that we didn't require to bother about the w/s any more.
Our journey began at 4 in the morning when we reached the railway station. Our group comprised of 6 members, 5 from our ROBOTIX team and one from the Kshitij team.As almost all of us had a "night-out" so everyone opted for a nap after boarding the train. After a comfortable journey we reached Bbsr at 11.20 am. A guy from KIIT had come to receive us on the station. Then was the time to confront with the first surprise of the day. A Lancer car was waiting to pick us up to our destination.A little while later we all were in the KIIT guest house which ,I must admit, provided us with a decent accommodation. After having a conversation with the organizing team of the KIIT (all 3rd years comp sc students) we got ourselves ready for the lunch.
Our next move was to go to the college campus were we were supposed to conduct the w/s.On our way to the venue we were informed that the Registrar of KIIT wanted to meet us. This was again unexpected to us as we were not on any official visit from our institute. After having a walk around the college campus we were in the registrar's office. We had a discussion on the various activities our team does to promote robotics in and out of Kgp campus. We also met with the assistant registrar and the HOD of Comp Sc dept. who wanted us to help the KIIT guys in establishing a Robotics society of their own. This was not all we had to meet the DEAN of undergraduate studies as well who appreciated our endeavor to promote robotics in India. After all these meetings and discussions it was the time to move to the venue of the w/s. We reached the place on time and to add to our surprise we were being expected by a crowd of around 600 students. This was really a great thing for us but was adding to our nervousness at the same time. We dint have any idea that we would be getting that kind of response at Bbsr.
We took some 15-20 minutes to get ourselves ready for the presentations but before we could start the girl from KIIT who was to introduce us to the audience asked us to light the lamp kept on the stage. We were totally astonished to find ourselves in that situation. At that awkward situation the best we could do was to invite the HOD sitting there to do the ceremonial lamp lighting thing for us and actually we did the same.
So this was how the w/s started.I was the first speaker and to my surprise I spoke quite well on the dais. These workshops have proved a very good platform for me to develop my public speaking skills. At the beginning I must not hide that I was nervous but with the rolling of the slides of the ppt prepared by me I gained confidence and delivered perfectly. After me Golu took the charge and as always left the audience spell bound.Golu handed over the mic to Suma(the kshitij core team member) for her presentation. At last Sabya concluded the session with a vote of thanks. But again this was not all there was something else waiting for us. The girl who introduced us called upon the HOD to present a memento to us. Accustomed by surprises by then ,Golu received the same on our behalf.
We then had a interaction session with KIIT people for an hour after which we moved to Sabya's house. From there we moved to CCD for a hang-out and took our dinner at Pizza hut. It was already 10 pm by then and it was time to say adios to Bbsr. So we moved to the station. The train was an hour late so I utilized the time interacting with Suma , the experience with whom deserves another post. We reached Kgp next morning at 4.
So this was how all six of us spent the day full of surprises. I hope we get similar kinda chance in future also.

a taste of vacation at kgp

(date on which the blog was written: july 9th 2005)

So its the 2nd summer vacation in a row which I am spending In KGP.Many a times I come across this question from my seniors and fellow batchmates "How can you spend your holidays in a place like Kgp?".You would not find this a tough one if you are a lover of "SOLITUDE".Deserted wings(read floors of our hostel ),voice of Deep Purple coming to your ears from a distant room(which is not a routine scene when the semesters are on)and complete loneliness give you your time.Time to introspect, look within and know yourself .This very opportunity to introspect gives me the impetus to spend two and a half months long vacation here in the campus of IIT KGP.Waking up late in the morning or rather noon,no tension of attending 7.30 classes,no lab reports,no skipping of breakers(IIT lingo for breakfast) ,no mad race for CG ,nothing. Its just you and only YOU. You surf the net all the night exploiting the 100 Mbps to the maximum, save the materials for the next day as the institute no longer provides net facilities till 6 pm in the evening, thanks to the MMS scandal which added to the glory of IIT Kgp.Moreover you don't have to depend upon the mess food for your health causes for a good long period of two and a half months.I was delighted to see a gain of 5 solid pounds when I checked my weight last week.I must not forget mentioning about managing the living expenses(specially on the costly food available in the campus when your resources are limited)which definately adds to your skills!!!!!The most fascinating thing of this stay for me is the complete freedom to study what I really want to.Starting from a variety of newspapers to in numerous e-books ,just type in the keywords and a complete ocean of knowledge lies in front of you.And when you are free from all botherations you just want to take a dip in that ocean and wish that you never come out.Now coming to introspection,I feel that solitude is the best mode to know yourself.I would like to mention one revelation I came across this time.I noticed that I was saving substantial amount of energy by keeping my voicebox closed(as there is hardly anyone to talk to). This may sound funny but I was able to invest that saved energy in doing something fruitful, reading a Pramod Batra(he happens to be a management guru, cant comment on his popularity) book for instance. Loneliness gives me enough time to ponder on my deeds and find ways to improve my traits. One must take out sometime in his/her life and spend that all alone to get an idea as to where does he/she stand!I know you cant spend your entire life all alone but knowing yourself by spending a few months alone is a deal worth making.

Blog ur thoughts

Time:4:30 am.17 internet explorer files(special mentions:orkut.com,google.com ),yahoo messenger, windows media player :This was what I was seeing on my computer screen when suddenly an IM window popped up.It was from my friend Shourish. The message contained a link http://www........bloggers.com.i/ was just about to ignore the link and close the window when the pointer of my mouse slipped(still unable to make out why is this attitude of my mouse pointer) and I mistakingly clicked the link.Adding to my irritaion was this 18th IE file(irritating because having a P III processor and opening 18 IE files is just suicidal for the 128 MB RAM) which was appearing as if someone has reluctantly filled the entire page with alphabets.I just scrolled down the page when I noticed a link.It said something about IIT KGP,my institute.I clicked on the link to satisfy my curiosity to find a page containing praises from some interns who had spent their summers in our institute. went through the entire write-up and found it pretty interesting.I could not contain myself from reading all the articles whose links were mentioned on the page and really enjoyed reading about one's feelings.I didnt know anything about the person who had written all those lengthy articles but her(the writer happened to be a gal) words were saying it all.The writings were potraying the character of the writer.I then realized that how easy it is to express oneself and make his/her thinkings known to entire world without spending a penny(for IIT KGPians atleast).I took less than a min to click on the homepage link and another 1 min to complete the registraion formalities. This was how I entered the world of blogging and now I dont mind wasting (i must not say "wasting" though)hours on the net blogging. So happy blogging to u all readers.

Why did this happen to me???

Why did this happen to me???

Why am I feeling low,
Just because you said no?
Liked you,Loved you
How much
Won't ever let you know.

There was a dream, I loved to see,
With you always, desired to be.
A single hug I wanted from you,
Would cost me much, I never knew.

Gone are the days
When I cherished your very presence.
Why am I wrong
If I still feel your essence.

I dont know why, but it is true,
Tried very hard but dint get any clue.
Searching you day in and day out,
Hoping to find you, reasons without.

Someone is more fortunate
I dont know why is he.
But god please lemme know
Why did this happen to me???
